I've stumbled upon a yet another delightfully curious way to use Google. Some people may object to this kind of entertainment but I firmly believe that those people just live in denial. Everybody likes peeping and a good rumor. So there, enter unauthorized access to other people's web cameras!
Apparently, many surveillance and web cameras nowadays come with web-enabled interface, and the default software setting allows unrestricted access to the camera stream and, sometimes, even to controls. That wouldn't normally be that big of a security problem. You just put the camera controls in a web location that nobody knows. The catch is that Google will find it anyway, and the camera control URLs have searchable patterns. It means that you can Google all cameras of a particular brand, see all that the cameras show, and even turn and zoom in some cases, and all that without knowledge of the camera owners half of the time!
